What Is The Most Dangerous Road In Miami?

January 19, 2014/in Car Accidents /by Mark Kaire

When it comes to car accidents in Miami, no road is more dangerous then Krome Avenue. While accidents on I-95 and the Palmetto expressway occur with a greater frequency, accidents on Krome Avenue are the deadliest. The high speeds and lack of median lead to horrific head on collisions. To that end, this morning three people died, three people were injured and two vehicles were charred beyond recognition in yet another head on collision.

According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez an SUV and a small car collided at about 2 a.m. on Krome and Southwest 144th Street.

“The impact was so severe that both vehicles ignited and were fully engulfed in flames,” said Sanchez.

When rescue crews arrived several passengers were trapped in the mangled cars.

While it is unclear if alcohol was a contributing factor, it is clear is that Krome Avenue needs wider lanes, better lighting, more speed control, and a median.
