New Poles For The I-95 Express lanes

On Behalf of | Jun 1, 2016 | Car Accidents

After thousands of  accidents, injuries, and even deaths on the I-95 express lanes, the Florida Department of Transportation finally acknowledged that the express lanes as constructed are dangerous.

Thanks in no small part to channel 10 investigative reporter Jeff Weinsier, the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Highway Patrol will announce new safety features for the Interstate 95 express lanes in Miami-Dade County.  Hopefully this time the FDOT will actually consult with the Florida Highway Patrol, and ask them for their input.  Something that was not done when the lanes were originally built.

As reported by Channel 10 news all of the plastic poles will be replaced on I-95 in Miami-Dade County. The new poles will be more sturdy and will be placed 5 feet apart, instead of 10 feet apart as they currently are.

We have written many stories on this topic, and we hope the new poles will be study enough to prevent motorists from lane diving into and out of the express lanes.

We look forward to Thursdays press conference.
