A Florida car accident on U.S 41 left a 19 year old college student with serious brain injuries and a 24 year old fleeing the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man who fled the scene is now facing felony charges for leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries and driving without a valid license.

The victim was driving to class, along with traffic when the 24 year old, in a 2003 Kia Sedona, started to make a left turn onto U.S 41 and drove into the path of the teen’s car, hitting the left rear of the car. A surveillance tape caught the crash on tape and shows the victim’s car flipping multiple times into the parking lot of a hotel and eventually being stopped by a concrete wall.

The 24 year old was seen fleeing the scene but Florida Highway Patrol were able to catch up with him, after an exhaustive criminal investigation.
