Scott Recalls Bike Helmet

I have written extensively about the dangers of bike riding in South Florida- As a brief aside there was another hit and run fatality this morning – Thus, a good bike helmet is not a luxury, but rather a necessity.

A helmet must comply with US and European safety standards.  Accordingly, cycling manufacturer Scott is voluntarily recalling its range of Vanish Evo helmets because they fail to meet safety regulations.

A Scott press release reads: “Riders wearing these helmets are not properly protected from falls, and could suffer severe head injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the above listed helmet and bring the helmet to an official SCOTT dealer in order to have a full refund of the price paid.”

As Miami bicycle accident lawyers we have represented countless cyclists that have been injured in accidents.  Thankfully our clients have escaped serious brain injury because they were wearing proper helmets.

In the event you sustain a brain injury in a bicycle accident, and are not wearing a helmet, the insurance company will argue that you should not receive compensation because you contributed to your injuries by failing to wear a helmet.
